Afrika’s Struggle Hosting a Dinner Party

Last night, I hosted a dinner party at Lagos Times Square to celebrate the graduation of my former student, McHenry Francois, who recently earned his MBA from NYU Stern.

Joining us for the celebration were several of his classmates, who are also former students of mine: Travis Leveque of American Express, Ahsan Jebran of Morgan Stanley and a private pilot, Brianna Harris of Citi and a Harvard graduate, and Reginald Wills of Goldman Sachs and a commissioned military officer.

The evening was a wonderful success. The food was delicious, and the music and ambiance created the perfect setting for a memorable celebration.

Afrika’s Struggle Honored

Today, I received a beautiful appreciation card from Sasha Heeralall — a Macauley Honors scholar, graduating senior, and 4.0 GPA student.

Ms. Heeralall is truly a force of nature. Beginning June 1st, she will take the helm as CEO of her aunt’s multi-million-dollar company — an extraordinary achievement that speaks to her intelligence, drive, and leadership.

She told me that it was an honor to have me as her mentor. In truth, the honor has been entirely mine. Mentoring Ms. Heeralall has been a privilege, and watching her grow into such an accomplished and inspiring young leader has been deeply rewarding.

I do not doubt that her future will be exceptional.
