A Banker and a Jazz Musician Walk into a Bar

Last night, I caught up with my former student, Matthew Snow (and his jazz ensemble – The Matthew Snow Group) at the Domaine bar a vins in Long Island City, NY. Mr. Snow is a Wall Street banker during the day but a jazz musician during the night. He plays approximately 7 instruments. He produces, arranges and writes his own music. If you’re in NY be sure to catch him at the above venue for the upcoming months. I’m still savoring the French wine and cheese (produced in Southern France) as I am typing….

Afrika’s Struggle: His Experiential Journey’s Author Uniting with Jamaica’s First Lady for a Good Cause

Last Thursday evening, I joined The Most Honorable Juliet Holness – Member of Parliament and Wife of the Prime Minister –  as she launched the Save Our Boys and Girls Foundation. The preceding charity’s motto is “Help us help our children” and Jamaica’s children indeed welcomes all the help that is available. The first lady and member of parliament intends to provide needed computers and nurture robotics interest in the primary schools.

From Jamaica to America, Karl’s Contribution to the American Landscape II

I wish to thank Mayor Wayne J. Hall, the Board of Trustees, and Jenise C. Richardson – Assistant to the Mayor and Director of Publicity – for selecting me as one of the Honorees in their Annual Caribbean American History Month program. The 2016 event’s theme is “contribution to the American landscape.” The event was held in the Incorporated Village of Hempstead, Long Island, on June 20, 2016.
